SCHEME OF EXAMINATIONS AND EVALUATION


Assessment

Two periodic tests will be conducted in each term.
• The half-yearly written examination will be conducted for 80 marks.
• Students from classes 1 to 8 will get grades from A1 (91-100) to E (32 and below).

1.       Scholastic Area: The assessment structure and examination for classes I to VIII has two terms i.e. Term-1 and 2 as explained below:

• Each Periodic Test will be conducted for 25 marks and will be reduced to 10 marks at the end of each term.

• Note Book Submission (5 marks) at  the end of each term.

Half Yearly Exam : Written exam for 80 marks with syllabus covered for Term-I

Yearly Exam         : Written exam for 80 marks with syllabus coverage as below:   

Class I to VI         :  10% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

Class VII              :  20% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

Class VIII             :  30% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

Co-Scholastic Activities (Classes I-VIII): For the holistic development of the student,

co-curricular activities in the following areas are to be carried out and will be graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair).The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork will be the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities.

The assessment and examination structure for class IX and X will be similar. In the board examination marks will be out of 80 for every subject and 20 marks will be given as per the internal assessments.

Board Examination: 80 marks – Students has to secure 33% marks out of 80 marks in each subject.

Internal Assessment: 20 marks – student have to secure 33% marks out of overall 20 marks earmarked in each subject. Periodic Test, Notebook Submission & Subject Enrichment Activity.

Board will conduct Class-X Examination for 80 marks in each subject covering 100% syllabus of the subject of Class-X only. Both Marks and Grades will be awarded for Individual subjects.9-point grading will be same as followed by the Board in Class XII.

Internal Assessment: Periodic written Test – 10 Marks, restricted to three in each subject in an Academic Year. Average of the best two tests to be taken for final marks submission. Speaking and listening skills, Practical Lab work, Maths Lab Practical, Map Work and Project Work – 5 Marks. Regularity, Assignment completion, neatness and upkeep of notebooks – 5 Marks

 

 

 

 

 

Co- Scholastic Activities: Activities will be graded on a 5-point grading scale (A to E) and will have no descriptive indicators. No up scaling of grades will be done.             

Note:

No re-examination will be conducted for students until and unless they have been deputed to participate in inter-school/zonal/ district/national sports or any such activity. These students will be considered for the academic awards.
