Rules and Regulations of the School

Terms:

The school will have two terms; one term from April to September and the second term from October to March end.

Parents’ Cooperation:

The parents are requested to ensure that

Dress Code:

  • Neat and perfect uniform is compulsory on all working days.
  • Proper uniform is to be worn as per the day order.
  • Shoes should be maintained neat and tidy with the laces properly tied. Socks should be washed & changed every day.
  • Avoid fancy, costly items or any attractive accessories (long ear rings, bangles, watches, etc.). The school shall not be responsible for loss of any such items.
  • Gold & Silver ornaments are strictly prohibited, for the safety of your child
  • Boys should trim their hair periodically and girls should tie their hair neatly with black band.
  • Nails should be periodically cleaned and trimmed.
  • Do provide a set of labeled spare dress for K.G. children, which shall be retained in the school itself.

Food Habits:

  • Only fruits, vegetables, fresh juices, sprouts and nuts are allowed for snacks. The school does not provide any eatables.
  • Noodles, junk foods, bottle juices, bakery products and oily items are strictly prohibited.
  • The lunch kit comprises of two towels, spoon, fork and enough water for your child.
  • Lunch should be accompanied with vegetables / greens compulsorily daily.
  • Kindly send the right quantity of snacks and lunch for your child.
  • Avoid sending food in very costly containers. The school shall not be responsible for loss of such items.
  • Do label your child’s name in all his/her belongings.

Attendance and regularity:

  • The students should attend their classes punctually with the lessons well prepared.
  • Do ensure that every day your child is brought at least 5 minutes early to the boarding point of School vehicle, so as to avoid time delay.
  • The students should be inside the School campus at least 10 minutes before the School Assembly, which starts at 9.00 a.m. If the school timings are not followed continuously, strict actions will be taken.
  • Frequent or long absenteeism will be severely dealt with, unless there is a genuine reason for the same.
  • No leaves are allowed during the Summative Assessments, reopening or closing day of a term. Request for re-test for Summative Assessments will not be encouraged.
  • Do ensure that your child completes his/her home task regularly, by acknowledging your signature in the Almanac every day.
  • One month prior written notice to the School Management is compulsory, whenever the withdrawal of your child from the school is necessary.

Health Care:

  • If your child has any specific allergy or physical illness, kindly do inform the class teacher and the School Authorities regarding the matter as soon as possible.
  • Kindly note that in case of any sickness, immediate First Aid will be provided by the School Authorities. In case of any emergency, your child will be hospitalized locally and intimation will be sent to the parent / guardian by the quickest possible means.

DAMAGE TO SCHOOL PROPERTY

         For wilful breakage and damage to the School property, the replacement cost along with a fine will be imposed on the errant student. However, in case of accidental breakages, only the replacement cost of the article will be charged.

         If an individual is not identified, then same will be charged to the entire group of students involved.

         A fine will be levied on the child if he/she uses the electronic/electrical gadgets that have been marked ‘NOT TO BE USED BY THE STUDENTS’.

         The decision of the Principal in such cases shall be final.


IDENTITY CARD

         Any student leaving the campus will only be allowed to go out with a person having an appropriate Identity Card.

         A total of five visitors (including parents) is permitted (at any one time), for which written authorization with photograph is essential

         Every student will be issued two cards in total; one is the student ID Card and the another is the Personnel Conveyance Card.

         Students are requested to take care of their Identity Cards as these are an important part of the School’s security system. Loss of a card must be reported immediately to the School Administrator. A duplicate card will be issued and charged for. We hope that this will rarely happen.


PUNCTUALITY

         Coming late to class/activity will be dealt with by the concerned teacher, with a note to the RHP. Repeaters will be placed on detention.

         Reporting late after sanctioned leave/night or day out is not expected and will be dealt with strictly. Repeaters may not be allowed for two (2) subsequent scheduled outings.


USE OF LANGUAGE

         Students are expected to speak in English only.

         Use of vernacular language is not permitted at any time.

         Use of abusive language is considered a grave offence and will invite immediate action against the offender.


SUSPENSION

In order to maintain the dignity/ethics of the School a student may be suspended, by the Principal or Vice Principal of the School, on the recommendations of the Disciplinary Committee, on the following grounds:

         repeated exhibition of disrespect to superiors;

         poor conduct during School activities

         unethical acts of violence, disrespect, language; physical behavior towards peers/ seniors/ subordinates;

         Poor attendance or breaking of School rules.

         The student will be sent home either with the parents or escorted by a member of staff. The period of suspension may last from seven (7) days to fourteen (14) days.


EXPULSION POLICY

With the larger interest of student community in mind the Principal has discretionary powers to expel a student, if he/ she

         has shown great disregard to the School discipline

         repeatedly, shown disrespect to the School ethics;

         has been unable to come to the expected academic standards in spite of regular intervention

         has, through his/her  behavior, brought the School community into disrepute;

         has a medical condition that may harm the wellbeing of others.

The student will be permanently removed from the School rolls and will be sent home. He/ she shall not be taken back in the School under any circumstances and shall also not become an Alumni of the School.


 School Transport Rules

         Bus facility is available for all the student of the school except for students residing

in nearby areas.

         School bus routes are drawn up based on convenience and demand while ensuring

that no route is overly long. Parents should consult the school's Transport In-charge

for necessary details or any changes desired.

         A student using the school bus is expected to be at the bus stop at least five minutes

before the scheduled arrival of the bus. The student has to be on the correct side of the arriving bus.

         Students are allowed to use only their allotted bus and bus stop. There is no provision for temporary change in bus or bus stops.

         Students, who miss the allotted bus, should not try to board any other bus. In such

cases it is the responsibility of parents to drop their wards to the school. Such

students may, however, return by their allotted bus.

         Students must make sure that the aisle of the bus is clear, and that school bags and

other belongings are placed properly.

         Students must keep all parts of their body inside the bus at all times. They should not put their hands out even for waving.

         No object should be thrown inside or outside the bus.

         The consumption of edibles and drinks is not permitted in the bus.

         Unruly behavior like shrieking and shouting is strictly prohibited.

         The driver's attention must not be distracted for any reason.

         The drivers are authorized to stop buses at designated stops only, unless otherwise

directed by the bus teacher after consultation with the Transport In-Charge and

Principal. The list of stops is prepared keeping in view the convenience and safety of

all bus commuters and is subject to change.

         In case there is a permanent change in stop and/or bus, permission for the same has to be sought through an application on the prescribed form available at the school office. The application form duly filled and completed along with an administrative charge of Rs/- 50 (Rupees fifty only). The change shall become effective only after the school grants written permission. Request for temporary change in bus or bus stops will not be entertained.

         Parents/Nominees of students who do not avail the school's transport should present

themselves at the school gate 15 minutes before the start/ dispersal of the school to

drop/collect their wards.

         If, due to certain exigencies, a student has to leave the school campus during school

hours, the following rules will be observed:

         A written request must be submitted by the parent.

         The School Leaving Register must be signed.

         A Permission Slip must be obtained and shown at the school gate before leaving the campus. Parents are not allowed to enter the bus under any circumstances.


Academic Awards:

Green Star: Any teacher can bestow a green star on a student in following cases:

         Academic Achievements: The student Securing A1 grade in any of the examinable subjects.

         Good Behavior: Being well-mannered with fellow students, teachers and other staff, abiding by the school rules, transport rules etc.,

         Attendance: 100% attendance in a month. Effort in Extra Curricular Activities: Taking interest in extracurricular activities besides class room learning and other activities.

         Improve Grades: Improvement in grades/marks in a particular subject from the last assessment.

         Scholar's Memento: It will be awarded to the student who has received Proficiency Certificates for three consecutive years.


Proficiency Certificates: This certificate is awarded to students to those who have scored grade A1 in aggregate for an academic year.


Payment of Fees

The parents are required to pay the full fees at the commencement of the academic Year. At the parent’s request, the management may accept the payment in two installments; the first Installment on 15th June & the second  up to 15th September.

Rs. 200/- will be charged for a dishonoured cheque. Parents are advised to deposit all

their dues preferably by crossed cheques in favour of Sharada International School

The school doesn’t accept monthly fee for any student.


Transport Fees

The parents are required to pay the transportation fees at the commencement of the academic Year. At the parent’s request, the management may accept the payment in two installments; the first Installment up to 10th June & the second up to 3rd October.


Visiting Hours

The Principal and members of the faculty will make every effort to make themselves available to meet parents on request, at mutually convenient times on working days, by prior appointment. Parents should please call up the school in advance to ask for an appointment and visit the school only after they have been given a confirmed time and date. If any visiting parent seeks to meet school authority without prior permission there request may / will be denied.


School Website

Your ward's school places a lot of emphasis on integration of information technology for the smooth functioning of the school and for minimizing efforts in communication. With this in view we maintain the school's website, which more than anything else, serves as a portal for broadcasting of information about the school and about the happenings on the campus. The website also serves as notice board giving information about admissions, vacancies, recruitment, and their related schedules. Assignment Policy

Students should try and do their assignment entirely on their own, without the help of their parents. They should develop a regular assignment routine, keep their parents informed with respect to assignment and show them the finished work. Students should ensure that their assignments are completed on time and that all supporting books and materials are carried back to school.


Teaching with Technology

Technology can have a reciprocal relationship with teaching. The emergence of new technologies pushes educators to understand and leverage these technologies for classroom use. As technology has improved, so has the way of its dissemination to the students in a qualitative manner. Undoubtedly, with these recent technologies in the classroom, strong conceptual knowledge can be achieved, as well difference between the way students are taught in school and the way they approach the outside world is tried to be seamless.


Short Messaging Service (SMS)

The way education is imparted today has changed dramatically. Parents today look for

that small extra edge that one institution has over the other. Parents worry endlessly

about the wellbeing of their wards & are keen to know what's happening at the school &

how their ward is faring.
